President Joe Biden’s desperation for approval seems to have reached an all-time high. Despite his abysmal approval ratings, he’s now hoping to win over the hearts of football fans. Yes, you read that right. The president’s campaign has bought airtime during a football game between the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs. Because nothing says “I’m doing a great job as president” like interrupting a football game with a self-congratulatory advertisement.
The ad itself claims that President Biden is “getting results that matter,” and it features clips from news reports that supposedly highlight how the economy has improved under his leadership. But let’s not forget that these are the same news outlets that have been fawning over Biden since day one. So forgive us if we take their glowing reports with a grain of salt.
In a Twitter video, President Biden continued his self-aggrandizement, boasting about the wonders of “Bidenomics.” Apparently, creating jobs and lowering costs for hardworking families is what he considers to be a major achievement. Well, forgive us for being a bit skeptical, Mr. President. But when the majority of Americans think the economy is “bad” and are struggling to make ends meet, it’s hard to believe your self-congratulatory rhetoric.
A recent poll conducted by YouGov paints a very different picture of the economy than the one Biden is trying to sell us. Two-thirds of Americans believe the economy is “bad,” and only 29% think it’s “good.” Words like “struggling” and “uncertain” were the most commonly associated with the current economic climate, while positive words like “rebounding” and “expanding” were rarely chosen. It seems the American people aren’t buying into Biden’s rosy narrative.
But perhaps the most damning finding of the poll is the fact that 70% of Americans are complaining that their income isn’t keeping pace with inflation. People are feeling the pinch, Mr. President, and your policies are to blame. Nearly half of respondents believe that your policies have a “great deal” of responsibility for the economy’s condition, with another 36% saying they are “somewhat” responsible. Only 20% believe that you bear little to no responsibility. Ouch.
So, as Biden interrupts our football game with his propaganda-filled ad, let’s remember that actions speak louder than words. And the actions of this president have left hardworking Americans struggling to keep up with rising prices and a stagnant economy. Sorry, Mr. President, but football fans aren’t going to be swayed by your desperate attempts to convince us that you’re doing a good job. We’re smarter than that.
