Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has released a powerful digital ad Sunday night, raising speculation that he is gearing up for a 2024 presidential run. The ad paints a picture of Florida as a “refuge of sanity” and “citadel of freedom” in the midst of the pandemic, and takes aim at the “federal establishment” in Washington D.C. for making it more difficult for Florida to succeed.

DeSantis goes on to criticize the “inflationary spending binge” that has left the nation weaker and citizens poorer, as well as the reckless open borders policy and energy policy that has crippled domestic production. He also expresses pessimism about the nation’s future, saying that some even believe failure is inevitable.

However, DeSantis also points to Florida’s success as proof positive that failure is not inevitable. He notes that Florida is the fastest growing state in the nation and has ranked number one in education freedom, economic freedom, and public higher education. He declares that “decline is a choice” and that “success is attainable.”
It’s clear that Governor DeSantis is sending a strong message with this ad, and it’s one that conservatives should take note of. The ad emphasizes the importance of freedom and limited government intervention, both of which are core conservative values. It’s no wonder that many are speculating that DeSantis is preparing for a 2024 presidential run – he certainly seems to have the right message for conservative voters.
