Conservative firebrand Dr. Sebastian Gorka recently admonished 20 House Republicans for siding with Democrats instead of reprimanding Congressman Adam Schiff. The GOP, along with House Republican Anna Paulina Luna, introduced a measure to censure Schiff and impose a $16 million fine on him. Gorka said he was stunned by Republicans who opposed the motion because of Schiff’s frequent and unfounded accusations of questionable collusion between the Trump administration and Russia.

Gorka, a former official in the Trump administration, spoke in an interview with Just the News on Flag Day, which is also President Trump’s birthday. He then chastised those GOP politicians who failed to support the measure, and especially Schiff, who he accused of being “the most mendacious person on Capitol Hill.” Gorka is determined to denounce those who voted against the censure measure and intends to disclose their names on his radio show.

20 Republicans voted w/ Dems to stop the ethics investigation, censure, & fine of Adam Schiff.
So there is no confusion (as some did not accurately read the bill) I will be filing a privileged motion to censure & send Schiff to ethics for investigation.
See you next week Adam.

Furthermore, the 20 Republicans who voted against the censure motion has exposed the deficiencies within the Republican Party. In Gorka’s view, there is a gulf between these Republicans and their constituents, which necessitates further action. He stated that President Trump remains the most viable contender for the Republican primaries even in the face of political challenges.
Gorka’s statement suggesting that President Trump remains the most prominent candidate for the Republican Party echoes the mindset of millions of Trump supporters across the nation. It highlights how divided the Party is when it comes to supporting Trump and his allies, emphasizing the ongoing debate within Republican circles.
Despite the proposed censure being mostly symbolic, the Republicans’ defeat indicates more significant deficiencies within the Party. Luna’s censure motion accused Schiff of acting “dishonorably” and “falsely denying his staff’s coordination with a whistleblower.” Many of Luna’s fellow Republicans point to Schiff’s role in launching the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump. They insist that Schiff should indeed face penalties for his actions throughout that investigation.
During a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence hearing, the censure legislation cited an incident in which Schiff recited a concocted version of a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Politicians like Luna argue that Schiff exploited this position and access to sensitive records to boost his political profile and secure funding.
Luna and her fellow Republicans feel Schiff should face consequences for his actions during the Trump investigation. However, the decision of 20 GOP Congressmen to sidestep Luna’s censure motion exposes a deeper disagreement within the Party about what actions should be taken.
