Trump Slams NYC’s Traffic Tax: Hochul’s Scheme Hits The Skids!

President Trump has stirred the pot once again, this time aiming straight for New York City’s congestion pricing plan, which many see as another ploy to extract hard-earned dollars from everyday commuters. While Governor Hochul is trying her best to hold onto this tax revenue scheme, it seems her pleas have fallen flat—much like an overcooked bagel left out in the sun.

The idea of congestion pricing, for those blissfully unaware, is essentially a scheme where New Yorkers would be charged a fee for driving into certain parts of Manhattan during peak hours. It’s a liberal dream come true, ensuring that not only are people stuck in traffic, but they’re also forced to cough up cash to do so. Trump’s stance against this nonsense resonates with many who’d rather not be penalized for trying to navigate their own city. Notably, it’s refreshing to see a political leader focused on the average Joe instead of taxing him into oblivion.

Hochul, on the other hand, appears to be grasping at straws, arguing that congestion pricing is essential for reducing traffic and funding public transit. Good luck convincing tax-weary New Yorkers that handing over more of their money will magically solve the city’s traffic woes. Many readers from the New York Post expressed their disbelief, pointing out that the mayor’s office should instead focus on eliminating the policies that have led to this more extensive congestion, rather than further tightening the noose around commuters’ necks.

Of course, the liberal elite have their own spin on this proposal, touting it as a grand step towards a utopian green city. What they conveniently ignore is that the everyday New Yorker is already stretched thin with sky-high rents, expensive groceries, and seemingly endless bills. The idea of adding a congestion tax feels like an insult, especially when it’s being packaged as a “solution” to a crisis that liberals themselves have exacerbated over the years.

In this tussle between Trump and Hochul, the real winners are the conservative voices standing up for the little guy, reminding politicians that they work for the people and not the other way around. With the chorus of dissent growing louder, it seems New Yorkers might just find a way to drive their message home: they’re not ready to pay extra just to sit in traffic.
