Democrat Hypocrisy Ignites Firestorm After Attempted Trump Assassination at Pennsylvania Rally

When former President Donald Trump faced a harrowing assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, reactions were swift and varied across the political spectrum. While many Americans came together to wish him well, it’s no surprise that some Democrats were left squirming in the spotlight. After all, just months prior, they had the audacity to introduce a bill aimed at stripping Trump of his Secret Service protection.

One of the loudest voices in this ironic twist belongs to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). Despite offering a terse statement expressing her thoughts for Trump’s recovery and praising law enforcement’s brave actions, she quickly reverted to her usual antics. On her political account, Crockett dismissed calls for her resignation with the tired old argument of “white privilege,” and a side order of self-importance. It’s almost like she can’t help but make every issue about her, even in the face of an assassination attempt against a former President.

In her defensive and rather tone-deaf post, Crockett reiterated her stance that Trump shouldn’t receive Secret Service protection, pointing to his felony convictions. She suggests that if Martha Stewart could handle prison without government-funded security, Trump should be just fine. One can almost hear the cackles from her more radical supporters who seem to revel in her inflammatory rhetoric. It begs the question: Is she seriously comparing the security needs of a former U.S. President to those of a celebrity chef?

This kerfuffle stems from the aptly named Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act, also known as the DISGRACED Former Protectees Act. Cozy timing, one must admit – the bill was introduced just before Trump’s highly dubious conviction on 34 felony counts in a New York City courtroom. Yet, with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on presidential immunity in the Trump v. United States case, there’s a strong indicator that his conviction might be overturned on appeal.

Then there’s Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the mastermind behind the bill and former chair of the January 6 Select Committee. Thompson had the gall to post a pat response on social media, rehashing the tired narrative of opposing political violence while having little to show for it. Meanwhile, his own office wasn’t exactly a paragon of virtue either. One of Thompson’s former staffers even took to social media to justify the assassination attempt – a post so vile it makes one shudder. It’s no wonder she was fired, but the damage was already done, showcasing how deep the rot goes.

This sorry saga serves as a stark reminder of the sheer double standards and hypocrisy at play. While Democrats scramble to save face and distance themselves from their more radical elements, they inadvertently reveal their true colors. One thing is clear: the conservative cause for justice and rule of law stands as strong as ever in the face of such transparent politicking and brazen contempt for true American values.
